Living Over Aging: Sites and Sounds

Sites and Sounds
Here are more music items and movies that will astound you, delight you and enhance your life.

Wolf (video)
We had to offer this movie on this site. Jack Nicholson's performance is incredible as an older, retiring book editor who becomes a wolf quite literally. The onscreen transformation he makes can inspire any man over 50 years old. Of course, having Michelle Pfeiffer as the female lead doesn't hurt. But as another "recovery from a midlife crisis" movie, this one is a must. Watch it whenever you feel beaten down by work...and then grrrrr!

Shirley Valentine (video)
If Jack Nicholson in Wolf is the male equivalent to a midlife crisis in film then Shirley Valentine is the female counterpart. This engaging and heartwarming film captured the hearts of millions as Shirley, a "dowdy London housewife" goes off in search of romance and adventure in Greece and finds her true self.

Cher (CD)
Along with Tina Turner, Cher is one of the enduring singers who continue to amaze audiences generation after generation. They are beautiful, talented and yes, inspirational. Cher's new album is a dancefest and a number of the songs are outright outrageous. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea but if you like to dance then this album is for you.

Supernatural (CD)
Yes this was the most hyped album of 1999 and it featured an "old-timer" (for the music biz) Carlos Santana. But the album sings for itself...it is awesome and features older and younger musicians. It is nothing short of mesmerizing. But we can now expect every rock and roll musician who ever played in the 1960's to record a new album!
