ElderGivers: ElderGivers, formerly known as, The San Francisco Ministry to Nursing Homes, is a nonprofit organization that trains volunteers to visit residents in nursing homes. More than 60% of nursing home residents NEVER receive a visitor. This important program has more than 250 volunteers who visit local nursing home residents regularly! They also have an excellent art program that exhibits the art of nursing home residents and other elders at a major regional museum annually! Check them out and give a donation if you can!


American Society on Aging: The American Society on Aging is the largest professional organization in the field of aging. They have more than 8,000 members nationwide. Their annual meeting is in the Spring and their headquarters is in San Francisco.


American Association of Retired Persons: The AARP is the largest membership organization in the world. They have numerous services and many resources to share on their web site.
